How does Coolsculpting work?

Coolsculpting is a FDA-cleared, patented procedure that eliminates stubborn fat cells by freezing them. Only fat cells are frozen. There is no cutting, lasers, needles or scars.

Each Coolsculpting treatment is called a cycle. The number of cycles each patient needs varies depending on the desired area of treatment and the amount of fat in that area. Each cycle takes approximately one hour.

For example, if a typical abdomen is four cycles, this would take four hours with one
coolsculpting machine. Treatment time is decreased in half to two hours at
Kevitch & Chung by utilizing two coolsculpting machines.

Coolscuplting Candidate

Coolsculpting is a good nonsurgical substitute for liposuction. It is not an intended weight loss treatment for obesity or morbidly obese patients. Patients with small collections of extra or stubborn fat are ideal candidates. Ideal treatment areas include saddle bags, love handles, abdominal pooch, and excess fat of the upper arms.

Coolsculpting is not recommended if you have cryoglobulinema or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. We recommend that you see one of our physicians to see if you are a good candidate for the treatment.
How long does the treatment take? Each coolsculpting procedure is called a cycle. Different parts of the body with require different numbers of cycles. The more fat and tissue there is also increases the need for more cycles.

Treatment Length
